MAC Trailer, a leading manufacturer of Dump, Flatbed, Transfer, Dry Bulk Pneumatic and Liquid Tank Trailers wrapped up its annual canned food drive Friday. The drive, aptly named “Dump Hunger,” was open to all employees at the Alliance and Salem Facilities.
The ultimate goal of the food drive was to fill one MAC dump trailer in Alliance and a Flatbed in Salem with donated items. From Oct 24th through November 20th, donations of nonperishable food items and canned goods that benefit those who need assistance most this time of year were collected at the MAC Trailer Facilities. The Human Resource department held contests for the “most” donations given by MAC employees as well as Partnered with Hendrickson Suspension who is actively involved in the Dump Hunger Campaign each year. “Hendrickson suspension systems come standard on all MAC trailers and we are very fortunate to have such active vendors involved in helping our cause” stated Kristi Rummel Marketing Manager for MAC Trailer. Ultimately, nearly 4,000 pounds of food was collected, surpassing last year’s donations. MAC Trailer delivered the donations to the Salvation Army’s Food Pantry just in time before the Holidays and from there they will be distributed to local families in need.
“This year’s Dump Hunger drive was a great success. It was touching to see another area business take such an interest in what we were doing and continue to do so each year” said Gary Conny Human Resource Director at MAC Trailer. “We feel this will not only help to create community wide awareness, but also be a rewarding way to help those in need”.
